Gingerbread Cookies

Yesterday afternoon I decided to make gingerbread cookies with the kids. I think I may have done them before but I'm pretty sure not since we moved into this house! That's at least 6 years ago! Wow! I should also mention that this idea was in the middle of a baking craze! Last weekend we made pumpkin spice cake, banana cream cheese cake, blueberry corn cake, & peppermint cheesecake. They were ok, not the best though. That inspired me to make some of my favorites that I KNEW were good! We started with pumpkin spice chocolate on Saturday, my very, very favorite! Then yesterday we, I, made truffles, 2 black-bottom banana cream pies, and then, the gingerbread cookies! I started a little late in the afternoon so we didn't decorate them until this morning.

Jessi chose to spend the day at work with John so she missed out, at least on our fun! Going to work with John has proven to provide it's own days worth of fun. At least I'm guessing so the way the kids beg to go to work with him all the time! Laura really enjoyed the purple, I had put the wrong tip on so way too much came out!

We all had a great time! AND, learned in the process that using Ziploc bags for the icing is WAY better than the little bottles I had, plus, they are way easier to "clean"! Trash vs. tiny scrub brush!
