Heidelberg
What a wonderful day! We went to one of Anna's neighbors houses, they have no central heating. It was a neat, old German home! She didn't speak any English so Anna translated everything for us. When we left she had a bag of German candy for our family,a very neat woman. Christian got half the day off so when he got home we decided to dash off to Heidelberg to see the Castle there. Little did I know that there was so much more than just a castle there, it was beautiful! We got there about 3pm and stayed for a couple hours.
Christian, Jeremy and Joy came with us. Jeremy has become a quick friend for Jarod and Laura, despite it having been a year since they played together. Anna stayed home with the three little ones, she and Emily, the baby, will come with us tomorrow. You'll have to check in then to see tomorrow's adventure! :-)
The castle is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around and taking pictures. Jarod, Laura and Jeremy enjoyed running around together, as well as the girls with Aunt Joy. Everything is better if Aunt Joy is around!
Afterwards we walked through town. We got some pastries at a little bakery, it was delicious! Since we had walked to the end of town, Joy, the kids and I went to the bridge to take some pictures. John and Christian walked back to get the van for us, they picked us up just as the sun had set.
The view of the castle and this bridge was too beautiful!
The moon was amazing!
Driving home was fun, 170 km/h (106 mph) on the Autobahn! John thoroughly enjoyed this!
When we got home the little kids ate, went to bed and then the rest of us enjoyed wonderful cheese fondue that Anna has prepared for us. What a great ending to a fabulous day!
