Foreign treats...
Since we had our gelato palate tested in Italy, we thought we'd try all, well a lot, of the different candies here in Canada. We didn't realize what a treat we'd be in for. Now, if you're reading this and desire one of these, send us an email before 1pm Nova Scotia time and we just might bring you one!
Oh Henry!, like a snickers but not as dense. Bigger peanuts and less carmel. Quite tasty. We sampled the peanut butter version of Oh Henry! this morning, even more tasty, this was up there with the favorites. Eat-More, a direct quote on this one, "funny how it's called Eat-More when you don't want to eat more of it." This was the ONLY one that didn't get finished and for the most part, all 6 of us were sampling, John, Jessi, Lucy, myself, Joy & Tim. Mars caramel, not bad, just nothing to write home about. Chocolate & carmel. Plain old Mars, this was another favorite, like a Milky Way but better, the chocolate tastes better I think. Aero bar, this was also quite tasty and warranted a trip home for the kiddos we left behind. I think the peanut butter Oh Henry! also made that high rating of being brought home.
We haven't actually sampled this Reese yet, but had to get it because at home they are called Reese's. We thought it interesting that the 's is left off. We had Mtn. Dew at lunch today and to our surprise, it said "caffeine free" on the bottle. Apparently they make it that way here, strange! So much for a quick bout, (again, please say with Canadian accent!), of energy! Mr. Big was chocolate with wafer and nuts. Whatever. Crunchie is sponge toffee, think meringue, and chocolate. It was interesting. Crispy Crunch looks like Butterfinger and is similar but not as sweet and tastes more peanuty but crunches more like toffee. Kinder, a brand often found in Germany, Bueno was, well, bueno! Wunderbar, more fun pronounced in the German accent, is our top favorite. Awesomeness was a word used to describe the flavor of this yummy candy bar. Kit Kat senses is a new one we are bringing for traveling enjoyment tomorrow.
Rockets here are Smarties in the US, they taste the same.
Instead, Smarties here are like M & M's. This mint Aero bar was only because we realized the local dollar store mischarged us on some other candy earlier in the week. Rather than a refund we had to spend the extra $3 in the store. This was my choice. It's like a giant Andes mint, it's totally fantastic and is definitely one of my favorites, I'm thinking I need to stop and buy more on the way to the airport, TOTALLY yum!!!
Believe it or not, Rotisserie Chicken "No Name" brand potato chips are quite tasty, we devoured half of this bag while playing a fun new game with Joy & Tim. It's called Ticket To Ride for anyone always looking for fun new games to play. http://www.daysofwonder.com/tickettoride/en/
After more senior pics at the local college, we stopped in at Tim Horton's for some Chai and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was fabulous and the Chai not so much. It's a cute little coffee shop and bakery that you see all over. Much like Starbucks back home.
We first enjoyed this delightful juice at the Bouter's for lunch on Sunday. It was so yummy we bought some to have with our last dinner tonight. The six of us drank it all! SO YUMMY!
